Alex James
PGA Head Professional

Alex took over at Sand Moor Golf Club in 2018 having previously spent 7 years as the Head Professional at Catterick Golf Club. Prior to that Alex worked at Oulton Hall and Royal St. David’s Golf Club after turning Professional in 2004.
As a player, Alex was the Welsh Assistant Professional’s Champion in 2005 & 2006, has competed on the Challenge Tour and has won a number of local and regional PGA events. Alex still competes in a few events each year.
Alex’s coaching philosophy is based on establishing strong swing fundamentals, developing effective practice routines and robust playing processes to improve course management and maximise performance. Alex is also a Superspeed certified coach.

Josh Ringrose
PGA Professional

• Level 2 Certified CAPTO Putting Instructor
• PEAK Level 1 Coach
Josh joined Sand Moor in early 2025 from Grimsby Golf Club and is a fully qualified PGA professional and an authorised club fitter for Ping, Callaway and Taylormade. Josh enjoyed a successful amateur career as a golf scholar at St. James School in Grimsby and has had success in several pro-ams across Lincolnshire. Josh is a passionate coach with a strong ethos of using technology to help golfers unleash there potential.
Josh offers individual golf lessons and custom fittings for anybody who wants to improve their game, using Foresight GCQuad and Capto Putting technology. Josh will also help run the Junior section here at Sand Moor Golf Club.

Harry Hunter-Mapp
PGA Professional

Harry turned professional in 2022 following a stellar amateur career where he captained the Leeds & District Junior team and represented the men’s team successfully on many occasions. Harry has worked at Cookridge Hall in a variety of roles since turning professional and he competes regularly on professional circuits and has had a number of top 10 finishes. Harry is extremely passionate about growing the game of golf and coaching golfers of all abilities alongside a strong focus on junior development. Harry will help to develop and further progress the already thriving junior section here at Sand Moor Golf Club
Harry offers individual golf lessons for all abilities and has coached beginners to plus handicap golfers helping them take their game to the next level, using detailed video analysis software and Flightscope data.
