Coronavirus Guidance

Please see the latest coronavirus guidance that is in force at Sand Moor Golf Club.

Following the Government’s latest announcement, below are the latest rules that are now applicable at Sand Moor Golf Club and a summary of the measures we have in place to help combat the spread of Covid-19.
It is crucial that all visitors follow the rules set out below so that we all work together to combat the spread of Covid-19. The rules are in place for your safety so please do not challenge staff who are tasked with implementing the rules.

1. Facilities

• All clubhouse facilities are open – bar, catering, toilets, changing
rooms, showers.
• Catering is available from 1000-1800 unless pre-booked.
• The Bar is open from 1200 until 30 minutes after sunset.
• All social distancing measures are in place throughout the clubhouse.
• Hand sanitiser units are placed throughout the clubhouse for your use.
• All practice facilities are open.
• The Pro Shop is fully open.
• The Halfway House toilets are open for use. The code is C1926X.

2. Golf Course

• All ball washers are decommissioned.
• The shoe cleaning machine has been turned off so please use the free-standing shoe brushes provided.
• Flags must not be removed, a ball retrieving mechanism is in place on each flag.
• All bunkers are in play. Preferred lies can be taken with relief taken within six inches as per the rules of golf. There are no rakes on the course so please use either your club or small rakes that can be purchased at the Pro Shop to smooth over any foot prints made.

3. Face coverings

• Face coverings must be worn in all indoor areas of the club/ facility as well as the Pro Shop. Coverings may be removed in bar and restaurant areas for the purpose of eating and drinking. There are some exemptions to wearing face coverings including children under the age of 11 and those with certain disabilities. Please refer to the government guidance for further details.

4. Social Gatherings

• You must not socialise with anybody outside of your household in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place.
• You must not socialise in a group of more than 6 outside, including in a garden or other space like beaches or parks (other than where specific exemptions apply in law)
• As the ‘rule of six’ is no longer applicable in our area we now must enforce the above rules. From Wednesday 14 October the bar and restaurant area will only have tables for 1 or 2. Tables of 2 are only available for those who live in the same household. If your household is larger than 2 and you wish to visit the Club, then please phone the bar in advance and we will set up and reserve an appropriate table for you. Groups of up to six can still socialise on tables outside on the balcony, but they will obviously be exposed to the elements.

• As there has been a change in the guidance that no longer limits the number of households that can socialise in a group of six, we have reconfigured the furniture in the bar and dining room to cater for groups of different sizes up to six people. As different groups will have different requirements, based on their own individual needs and personal circumstances, furniture must not be rearranged.

5. Track and Trace

• Golf clubs are legally obliged to collect details of those entering the clubhouse. These details must be stored, in compliance with GDPR, for 21 days and available should track and trace be required. We have placed sign in sheets, to record the necessary details, on tables inside both entrances to the Clubhouse and at the counter in the Pro Shop. Visitors must sign in, clearly leaving all their relevant details, when entering the Clubhouse or Pro Shop. Alternatively visitors can e-mail clubmanager@sandmoorgolf.co.uk to provide the contact details of individuals within your group in advance of your day.

• In addition, on 24 September the Government launched the NHS Covid -19 App and venue QR codes.

We have posted at all the entrances to the Club and the Pro Shop the QR code poster for Sand Moor Golf Club. To put it simply once you have downloaded the app you will be able to scan your phone against the poster to register that you are at Sand Moor. Visitors can use this mechanism of signing instead above methods, but if they do not wish to then one of the above
