Sand Moor is a beautiful inland heathland course situated next to Eccup reservoir on the north side of Leeds with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. The course with its sandy soil drains exceptionally well.

One of Yorkshire’s Best

Founded in 1926, the major influence in the creation of the course was Yorkshire born Dr. Alister MacKenzie, designer of Augusta National. Dr. MacKenzie was a member of the first Green Committee and was nominated as a Vice President from 1926 to 1930.

Changes to the course took place in the late 1960s with the advice from Henry Cotton and has recently been updated by renowned Architects, Andy Watson and Ken Moodie, with all bunkers remodelled and subtle changes made to help the course stay abreast of modern day equipment whilst remaining loyal to the original design.
